More than two-thirds of the settlers (68%) agreed would abide by a democratic decision to withdraw and only a very minority (6%) would refuse. Only 2% would resist by all ways and means.
The majority of the settlers (59%) agree to a compensation.
-Those who accept the state compensation and the aids from the Ministry of Housing.
Intifada meaning uprising. The word used several times in Lebanon but also in Morocco or Irak to describe a rebellion against an oppressive regime or a foreign enemy. It also describes two popular opposition groups against the israeli defense forcesin the occupied territories and in certain zones claimed by the palestinian authority (Gaza strip and West Bank). It’s a main issue in the israeli-palestinian conflict.

The first Intifada, called war of stones, started on December 9, 1987. The second palestinian Intifada, “Al Aqsa” Intifada, began on September 29, 2000, following Ariel Sharon’s visit to the Mosque Esplanade/Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
Freemasonry first appeared in Scotland then in the UK, and describes itself, considering the times, the countries and the practices, as an “essentially philosophical and charitable association”, as “a system based on ethics and illustrated by symbols” or as an “ initiation order”. Organized as obediences since 1717 in London, Freemasonry termed as speculative...i.e philosophical makes reference to the past obligations of Freemasonry said to be operative, established by the builders society which erected cathedrals, among other monuments.

Using symbols and rituals, it confers an esoteric, dogmatic and progressive learning: It encourages its members to work for the progress of humanity, whilst leaving each member free to interpret the meaning of those words. Donating to charities is one of its missions. Its vocation is universal though its practises and methods of organization extremely vary according to the countries and periods It groups people in different countries all over the world, aiming at a better spiritual and moral life.

After several days of waiting and negotiations, we were able to go to one of Joseph Kony’s base camps. We penetrated the thick bush of the congolese park of Garamba and suddenly saw child soldiers who sprang out at us just like wild animals. Palm tree branches were strown on the ground to symbolize according to the Acholie ritual, the sign of peace. Joseph Kony proudly stands wearing his military jacket, but after 20 years in the bush, with no contact with anyone, he is a timid and tense war leader replying to a few questions. He pretended that all that had been said about him was purely propaganda directed by the government of Kampala. He denies having child soldiers. Although around him among his soldiers some seemed less than 15 years old. Combed with deadlocks, staring blankly and arrogantly holding their AK 47, one feels that they had their childhood stolen ...It was Raska Lukwiya ‘s case, number 3 of the LRA , killed on Saturday, August 12, by the Uganda army. Raska, like most of the rebels, was kidnapped as a child. Nevertheless, negotiations continue.

He operates in a simple and efficient way, the rebels kidnap 6 to 15 year old children. After training but above all brainwashing, those children rapidly become new fighters. According to the UN, LRA has kidnapped 20.000 children, boys and girls, in the north of Uganda and south Sudan over the last ten years.
South Sudan just emerging from 21 years of war no longer wants to see its children kidnapped by these “fanatics”, but wishes to quickly put an end to this rebellion before it sets fire to this yet so fragile land. The powerful sudanese vice-president, Reik Machar, has instructed the government of Uganda, as well as the LRA, to negotiate peace with Joseph Kony hiding in the south of Sudan since several years and now .probably 1000 kilometers further south. His base camp is now in DRC on the sudanese border.

Reconstruction ? Some new buildings can be seen on the Ilha, this narrow Luanda coastline. Building projects that hardly conceal a devastating standstill. Despite considerable rich natural resources (oil and diamonds in the north) and the return of peace, the country remains in a dead-end. Economy ruined by the appara tchiks of this socialist state and by the western countries, corruption, laminated roads, families torn apart, health programs afloat, malaria, malnutrition.

The picture would not be complete if we omit the 12 million mines disseminated all over Angola, almost as many as the population of the country, which delay any idea of reconstruction. Heritage of a conflict that has killed more than half a million people who haunt the nights of the survivors.

On the highlands of Planalto, formerly the granaries of Angola, awakening is painful. The inhabitants hesitate between fatalism and trust in the future. The small town of Bailundo is falling in ruins, as well as its hospital with its shattered windows and pierced roof allowing the rain to pour in. The exorbitant prices of basic materials, such as concrete or sheet metal. Same picture of desolation in Mungo. Indeed old town Unita now has electricity as well as a motor tractor. Only problem: the brand new engine and the land cultivated belong to the police commanding officer.
Angola suffers from not moving ahead. Corruption, disastrous roads, expensive transportation, hamper the straightening up of the economy and health structures. Since 2002, Doctors of the world brings medical aid to a fragile population.

Twice a week, father Horacio walks the streets of Luanda to offer some warmth to the homeless children. “We try to circle their real difficulties in order to better help them. Eventually, we may suggest that they join the center”, explains this argentinian with the looks of Che Guevarra. A lot of patience is needed to cope with suspicious minors, having no landmarks and often addicted to drugs, who rarely accept to follow the padre at first contact. Created in 1993, the Arnaldo Janssen center boards and offers school education to 180 young people who must respect the internal rules and regulations in the form of ten “commandments” (compulsory classes, sharing the tasks, hygiene...) External students are also accepted. They can all major with professional degrees. At the same time, steps are taken to find the families in order for some boarders to return to their homes. “Nevertheless warns the priest, success depends above all on the child’s implication.”
Orlando, a twelve year old street child in Luanda : “My elder brother used to beat me, so I ran away, but when I came back my family had fled from the war. I slept outside and to feed myself, sold garbage picked at the Roque Santeiro, the largest market in Africa. One day I asked Father Horacio who spoke to me about the center, to give me ten kwanzas (local currency). Suspicious, I nonetheless decided to follow him. He has just found my uncle who will take care of me”.

Life gets organised around the tents that Okutiuka grabbed from the Administration. The site baptised parada dos fobados (“starving squats”), is run with authority by Jesus, 17 years old, the well-named. To avoid being excluded, no more filthy rags of chupilingua, this addiction to fuel , should be found laying around. The teenagers respect the rules: up at dawn, washing up, then cleaning the place before school. Tonight, to an air of rap, they show off their arms bearing scars made with used blades. Anxiously eyeing all this, Jesus scrutinizes the horizon: a mackerel has moved her hovel to just 100 metres from here, as though to spy upon this small fragile world. Just like a deadly sword of Damocles.
